Trustee Roy Lee Retires
On June the 7th the Village of Greenview held a small ceremony for Trustee Roy Lee who retired from the Village Board effective May 18th, 2021. Not only did he serve as a Village Trustee from 2007-2021, Roy served on the park and entertainment commitee and the sidewalk and tree committe. He chaired the employee committee and recently was appointed as chair of the sewer committee. Trustee Lee had many accomplishment during his 14-year tenure as Trustee with some of the most prominent ones being to help build a good relationship between the employees, the board, and the residents of Greenview. He made sure that the employees were professionally trained and received their qualifications to run the water department, was part of the committee to hire a zoning and nuisance officer and he campaigned for having a full-time Village Clerk. He was part of getting the water billing system computerized and helped mainstream Village procedures. The Greenview Citizen of the Year was implemented by Trustee Lee and he was instrumental in helping to get things started for the possibility of a wastewater facility in Greenview.
His dedication, brilliance, bright enthusiasm, and fierce passion, to help make Greenview the great community it is today, will be greatly missed. So if you see Trustee Lee out, please help us in wishing him the best of luck in the future.
