For Solicitors:

Apply for a permit by contacting Village Hall at 217-968-5314 or the Clerk ;
Cost: $75.00 for a 30-day, non-transferable permit.
A background check will be performed before permits are issued.
Soliciting hours are: 8am-8pm, Monday- Saturday. No Sundays or holidays.
Solicitors MUST Carry and display Village permit while soliciting.
Solicitors must Cease soliciting immediately upon request from resident or homeowner.
Fines for violations: $100 first offense; $200 second offense; $500 third offense.

Residents:

All approved solicitors will be listed on this site and an "Alert" will be sent to subscribers, with solicitors photo and name.
Ask to see the permit. Every approved solicitor is issued one. They are good for 30 days.
Guard your personal information! Never share your social security number, be very careful about signing ANYTHING.
Call 9-1-1 if you do not feel safe OR if the solicitor does not have a permit or is not listed as approved
