Application Process
I am interested in applying for a job with the Village of Greenview, what do I do?
You will need to fill out an application if available. Please ensure you meet the qualifications for the position you wish to be considered for. If you would like to include a resume, simply attach it to the completed application. You may mail or drop off the application at City Hall. Interviews will be scheduled accordingly.
Does the Village of Greenview hire part time employees?
Yes, we do hire part time employees. Availability of these positions will be posted here when available.

What is the process for getting a building permit?
Take a moment to read all required information provided. Then print and fill out the building permit application form and return to city hall. Should you have any additional questions, please feel free to give us a call or send us an email. We will be happy to help you.

Negotiated Rates
The Village of Greenview is a member of a Municipal Aggregation Community and offers Greenview Ameren customers a negotiated, locked-in rate for electricity. Customers are automatically enrolled, and may opt out at any time.
The negotiated rate is $0.07895/kw hour.*
The rate was negotiated in 2022 and is set for the next three (3) years.
* This rate is only for usage and does not include Ameren delivery prices.

If you know of a customer that needs assistance, please direct them to AmerenIllinois.com/EnergyAssistance.
Consider Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP). Families can now apply by visiting helpillinoisfamilies.com or by visiting their local agency. Families can also call 1-833-711-0374 for assistance in 30 languages. LIHEAP provides one-time payments directly to energy providers on behalf of recipients. All families who meet the qualifications and provide proper documentation will receive support until funding is exhausted. Families who earn up to two-times the federal poverty level are eligible to receive support through LIHEAP.
Ameren Bill Payment Relief
Ameren Illinois has facilitated $23 million in bill payment assistance to customers impacted by higher power supply costs. Credits and grants have been provided through programs targeting low- and moderate-income residential customers, active-duty military and disabled veterans, non-profits and small businesses. In addition, qualified households are receiving special incentives for insulation, air sealing and some HVAC system installation. Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois
Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP): Eligible income-qualified households may obtain utility bill assistance through their Local Administering Agencies.
Community Services Block Grant Program (CSBG): Community Action Agencies across the State provide a variety of CSBG services, including but not limited to, assistance with Rental/Mortgage, Food, Water/Sewer Payment, Employment Training/Placement, Financial Management, and Temporary Shelter. Each agency delivers locally-designed programs and services based on the needs of its community. If a particular service is not directly provided by your local Community Action Agency, you will be referred to one of our partner entities for further assistance.

When are the garbage collection days for my street?
Please refer to the monthly schedule. Remember, observed holidays will alter the normal routine.
Water Utilities
How could I have used this much water?
You may not have - the numbers on your meter may have been transposed or hard to read. You could possibly have a leaky toilet or faucet that's difficult to detect. Just call the office and we'll work with you to solve the problem.
My bill is past due can I get an extension?
Please contact our office and a one-time extension will be extended to you for extenuating circumstances.
What do I do if I am experiencing low pressure?
Check your meter and the surrounding area for possible leaks. Next, call our office and report low pressure for your area.
Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?
We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.
Why is my water discolored?
A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the milky look.

Business Licenses & Permits
Solicitors
For Solicitors:
- Apply for a permit at the Village Hall during business hours;
Cost: $75.00 for a 30-day, non-transferable permit. - A background check will be performed before permits are issued.
- Soliciting hours are: 8am-8pm, Monday- Saturday. No Sundays or holidays.
- Solicitors MUST Carry and display Village permit while soliciting.
- Solicitors must Cease soliciting immediately upon request from resident or homeowner.
- Fines for violations: $100 first offense; $200 second offense; $500 third offense.
Residents:
- Guard your personal information! Never share your social security number, be very careful about signing ANYTHING.
- Call 9-1-1 if you do not feel safe
- Consumer complaints should be addressed to the Illinois Attorney General's office: 800-243-0618
- If you do not wish to be contacted, display a "No Solicitors" sign
