John Holt Retires as Police Chief

After celebrating 25 years of service to the community of Greenview, Officer John Holt has retired as the Chief of Police. Holt's retirement is voluntary and honorable; his career marked by devoted service and gentle guidance. The Village of Greenview wish Holt a restful but active retirement!
Mental Health Mobile Crisis Response Launched in Menard County

INTERVENTION IN REAL TIME
People of all ages within Menard County who are experiencing a mental health crisis are now being served by the Memorial Health Mobile Crisis Response (MCR) initiative. MCR operates 24 hours a day/7 days a week/365 days a year. THERE IS NO FEE.
Jamie Booth Joins Village Board

At the April 18, 2022 meeting, the Greenview Village Board voted to install Jamie Booth as a Village Trustee, replacing the vacancy created by the resignation of Ray VanCleve. Jamie has lived in the Village since 1999 and is dedicated to serving his neighbors!
Sewer Update

The sewer project bids were opened approximately a month ago and those bids came in over budget, and the monthly costs to the residents were not feasible. So instead of scrapping the entire project, the board voted to do a redesign of the system to try to bring the costs down so that we can have a quality system, that meets USDA & EPA guidelines, and will keep things affordable for the residents.
UPDATE ON VILLAGE SEWER SYSTEM

The progress on the city-wide sewer system in Greenview has been slow, but it is starting to pick up steam. The plans have been completed with the layout and the treatment plant and paperwork is being completed. We are currently waiting on some permitting from the Illinois EPA defining the classification of our sewer system before certain things can be completed and the project can go out to bid. With that being said, the Village Board, adopted ordinance #553 on January 18th, AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF UP TO $4,892,000 SEWERAGE SYSTEM REVENUE BONDS OF THE VILLAGE OF GREENVIEW, MENARD COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FOR THE PURPOSE OF DEFRAYING THE COST OF ACQUIRING, CONSTRUCTING, IMPROVING AND EXTENDING SEWERAGE FACILITIES, AND RELATED MATTERS. A copy of this ordinance was posted in the Springfield Journal Register on 01/24/2021 and can be viewed at Village Hall or viewed online at www.thevillageofgreenview.com.
